“Two beers Ida, one for me and one for me mate!”

You can’t miss the Walkabout Creek Hotel when you drive into town, just look for the Never Never Safari truck that was featured in the movie!

The original movie set was donated to the hotel by the film‘s producer John Cornell, you can’t get much more authentic than that! The bar from the film has been placed in the beer garden and operates for functions.

Originally called the Federal Hotel, this pub was built in 1900 and licensed in 1901. The name was changed to the Walkabout Creek Hotel after the first Crocodile Dundee movie.

Today the Walkabout Creek Hotel sits proudly overlooking the Landsborough Highway after being relocated in 1996 from the original site at the end of Middleton Street. Come on in and enjoy a drink and some friendly company while watching the traffic go by.

  • Delicious meals are served for lunch and dinner during the tourist season (May-September) from Monday - Saturday.

Can’t miss the Saturday night fun: Piss, Pizza and Pool comp!

Come on in and enjoy good country pub atmosphere.

  • The weather may be hot in McKinlay but the drinks sure aren’t! Enjoy a cold beer with 8 taps to choose from and numerous spirits and wines.

  • Our caravan park is equipped with both powered and unpowered sites. Clean amenities, camp kitchen and laundry for you use.

    Single accommodation is also available.
